Job Title: Service Writer
Department: Service
Job Type: (Full-time, non- exempt, Monday to Fridays, no nights/ weekends)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and sells customer quotes for parts & service
- Dispatches technicians and processes service paperwork.
- Responsible for processing warranties according to their policies and procedures including Toyota, Starlift, Cascade, and other brands.
- Creates repair quotes for customers based on technician requests, completed work orders and PMs, and incoming customer calls.
- Utilizes the Toyota and TVH parts systems to look up parts.
- Utilizes the Toyota warranty flat rate manual or “Quick Quote” spreadsheet for labor hour quote times.
- Calls customers and presents quotes, obtains purchase orders, and follows up after the repair to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinates with transportation to pick up and deliver customer units and necessary rentals.
- Communicates with technicians, service supervision, and CSS to coordinate repairs.
- Monitors repair progress, and communicates changes of cost or completion dates to both the customer and CSS.
- Track quotes, sales, and quote time frames in the daily service writer reports.
- Miscellaneous other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of forklift parts or comparable experience
- Experience in forklift maintenance procedures
- Ability to read, understand, and process work orders
- Experienced in Microsoft office, Word, and Excel
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unaided
- Must be reliable, report to work on time, ability to follow directions, and get along well with co-workers and management personnel
Experience:
- Service writing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Automotive parts: 1 year (Preferred)
