Purchasing an LSI Forklift
Starting January 1, 2026, a Fleet Operator cannot purchase LSI Forklift at a location in California unless:

  • The forklift is a used 2025 or previous model year Forklift
  • The current date is before January 1, 2027 and the forklift is a new 2025 Model Year LSI Forklift
  • The forklift is a Class V LSI Forklift with a rated capacity of 12,000 lbs. or more
  • Must be reported to the Executive Office
  • The date is before January 1, 2038 and the forklift is a 2026- 2028 Model Year Class V Forklift rented from a Rental Agency

Operating an LSI Forklift
Starting January 1, 2026, a Fleet Operator cannot operate an LSI Forklift in California unless:

  • The forklift is a 2025 or previous model year forklift. (follow phase out period to prepare)
  • The current date is before January 1, 2038 and the forklift is 2026-2028 Model year Class V Forklift rented from a Rental Agency
  • The Forklift is a Class V LSI Forklift with a rated capacity of 12,000 lbs. or more.
