Hirsh Pipe & Supply uses Toyota forklifts to power its warehouse and recently switched from propane forklifts to electric forklifts. We asked Warehouse Operations Manager Scott Woollard about his experience with Toyota Material Handling Solutions and Toyota forklifts.

Why did you switch from propane forklifts to Toyota’s electric forklifts? 

We switched from propane to electric forklifts for several reasons. Electric forklifts are cost-effective and save us money over time, and they are better for the environment and the air we breathe in our warehouse daily. Our forklifts are used constantly in a 24-hour shift, Monday through Friday. 

What benefits have you seen by switching to electric forklifts? 

Switching from propane to electric forklifts saves us the hassle of handling and storing propane tanks. We have a small battery-charging area in the back and use an existing wall-mount charger, which takes up much less valuable space. 

How was the sales experience with Toyota Material Handling Solutions? 

Our Account Manager Nick Parotino was a great help. He held the quote for us while we worked out our budget and ensured we got the right forklift specs to help us achieve maximum productivity in our warehouse.  

How do you feel about the switch to Toyota electric forklifts? 

We’re happy with our switch to Toyota electric forklifts. They are efficient and reliable, and our operators like the smooth and quiet ride compared to our old I.C. forklifts.
